PADI NITROX CERTIFICATION
Incredible price only $150
Alex's Aquatic Adventures offers the Nitrox certification course also known as Enriched Air Certification for only $150. This is strictly classroom based and does not include any SCUBA diving. This is book work and exam only.
Once you arrive at your hotel in Waikiki, Hawaii. We will deliver the study materials,3 tables for you to keep and a DVD for you to view. This is independent study. The DVD must be viewed prior to the lectures and exam. The Instructional video is approximately 2 hours long, there are Knowledge Reviews at the end of each segment which also need to be completed. The certification will take approximate 3 to 4 hours to complete this includes lectures, visiting a Nitrox station, analyzing a Nitrox tank, and completing a 25 question multiple choice test.
Nitrox can be very dangerous. This is why it has its own specialty certification; there are rules and guidelines that must be followed. It is important that you do not use Nitrox unless you are properly trained or with a Nitrox instructor making sure that you are DIVING SAFELY.
What we teach you in the Nitrox certification. Is how to use Nitrox safely. We take you through planning dives using different gas mix ratios: 21% to 40% oxygen. You can extend your bottom time by as much as 60% or more by using certain gas ratios. If you are very efficient on-air and return from a 100 foot dive with 1500 psi of air in your tank and you have reached a "no decompression limits" on air, then Nitrox is for you. On the other hand if you are a ASD (AIR SUCKING DOG) and use all your air before the "no decompression limits", Nitrox is not for you. You will empty a Nitrox tank at the same rate as an air tank. Some people especially the older generation prefer to use Nitrox as a safety feature. They use it instead of air; however, they do not extend their bottom time. Because there is less nitrogen in the mix, their body will consume less nitrogen throughout the dive. It has also been said that people feel less tired diving on Nitrox than compressed air. I personally have not felt this effect.
Nitrox certification consists of three formulas: equivalent air depth formula, PPO (partial pressure of oxygen), maximum depth that you can dive with different gas mix ratios. You do not have to memorize these formulas as they given to you on the exam.
In this certification we will show you a Nitrox filling station and explain several ways that gas is blended to get the mixes you desire. You will learn how to complete logbooks at the Nitrox filling station to receive your gas. We will show you the difference between Nitrox tanks and air tanks and all of the tags that go with using Nitrox. Most importantly we will show you how to use an analyzer.
Golden rule: If you do not analyze your own gas, you do not breathe it. When traveling around the world, especially Third World countries, I would strongly recommend that you take your own analyzer thay cost between $250-$300. This could very well save your life.
