CORSAIR AIRPLANE

This is a very popular wreck dive. The Corsair airplane sits in 107 feet of water. The only true wreck on the island, meaning it wasn't sunk intentionally. Instead, it ran out of gas during training maneuvers. She lies in the middle of an oasis of sand. Fields and fields of garden eels surround her, and many sea critters have made her fuselage home. Local residents include shrimp, octopus, frog fish, a huge school of blue striped snappers sometimes so large, they obscure the plane herself. Divers can sit in the cockpit, but look under your seat first for the huge Green Moray that is sometimes there. Large pelagic fish have been seen swimming by; including eagle rays, whales, and maybe a shark or two....! This is a very special wreck as it is an airplane. (aeroplane wrecks are just rare)

There are plastic slates made up for all the wreck diving sites. They are great for your logbook,. There great for showing people where you went wreck diving in Hawaii. Priced at only $10 each. We have them with us in the van, there are five that make up the set buy four get one free, a $10 saving.
