SCUBA DIVING EAST OAHU HAWAII

MAUNALUA BAY

Alex's Aquatic Adventures has made it very easy for our SCUBA divers in Hawaii. All dives are led by PADI professionals (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). Our promise is to get you to where you want to be diving; weather permitting of course. We have access to great boats, fun crews and loads of interesting sites. Join us for a day…or two…or three…exploring and discovering all the great things our island waters has to offer. No need to carry SCUBA tanks or set up your diving equipment (unless it is personal equipment); we do all the work. Save your energy for the dive!

This bay is Southeast between Hanauma Bay and Diamond Head. Because of the way the island is situated, this bay is open to trade and east winds, which are the common winds we get in Hawaii. Due to this, Maunalua Bay tends to be the roughest bay on the south side of the island. In our opinion, the diving in this bay is spectacular, but I do not think that this is a good place to take Discover SCUBA divers, PADI Open Water students, or rusty/nervous divers. We would strongly suggest that you dive one day with us in a different bay to get back in the groove before trying to dive in this more challenging bay. Most companies that frequent these dive sites leave out of Hawaii Kai; the same location as the boat we will be using. In spite of how spectacular the diving is I would much prefer to take solid licensed divers to this bay due to the current and the conditions. FYI, the Sea Tiger or the YO-257 are located in a different bay.
