My name is Alex Mason. I am a PADI Master Instructor which is the highest instructor rating you can achieve from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. I have been teaching SCUBA-diving in Hawaii for over 13 years with a perfect safety record. I am able to teach all courses from Discover SCUBA diving all the way through to dive master, I am also qualified to teach 18 different specialties . Here is a link to my Qualifications page.

If you are looking for a small company that takes pride in what it does, you have definitely found the right place! I take out very small groups: a maximum of four SCUBA divers per diving Instructor for both the Open Water Certification course and our Discover SCUBA diving ADVENTURE! My maximum ratio for licensed SCUBA divers is 6 to 1; however 90% of the time we have between two and four SCUBA divers per diving Instructor.

This does not mean I can not manage larger groups; I definitely can. For larger groups, I would employ dive masters or instructors to help me best suit your needs, giving you the best ADVENTURE ever. I will still manage the day and make sure everything runs smoothly, as I am always present with you on the boat. My company is small enough to care; my management skills are excellent so I can organize any size group.

I will always stand by my bookings: If I have only one person scheduled I will not give you some lame excuse at 7:30 in the morning to cancel. I have heard some good ones over the years. One of the best excuses I ever heard was from a company that does not own a boat, yet told their diver they couldn't get their boat to start because its batteries were dead, they sent the customer away. However, that same day, I was on the same boat that the company I speak of always uses. The boat was working fine. The SCUBA diver with me that day was none other than the diver they had abandoned with their false claim.

My prices are very competitive. My ambition, sense of great customer service and extensive experience in my expertise allow for this. I do not have the overhead of a shop, employees or a boat. I am very diverse. As I can buy space on several different boats around the island. We are not restricted to one set of dive sites, nor are we restricted from being able to help you explore all sides of the island. We are able to take you SCUBA diving on the east side, South side and the west side of Oahu, Hawaii. This is exactly the same as 90% of the SCUBA companies here on Oahu, Hawaii.The difference is we will drive you around the island of Oahu, Hawaii to accommodate your desires. For the few companies that do own their own boats, they sell me boat seats to accommodate my SCUBA divers; so please excuse the pun but,"we're all in the same boat."

For your safety and enjoyment while SCUBA diving with Alex's Aquatic Adventures, we have replaced all of our equipment. All our equipment was replaced July 1, 2011. Here is the link to our equipment page which will describe all the equipment you will be using while SCUBA diving with Alex's Aquatic Adventures. As far as I know we are the only company that issues, SCUBA diving computers on certification courses, and to licensed SCUBA divers. We also give you the FREE use of flashlights (torches, sorry that's the English in me) for our deep dives with licensed divers. LICENSED SCUBA DIVERS:

BRAND NEW rental equipment (replaced July 1, 2011)
Free use of dive computers to ensure maximum bottom time!
Flashlights for looking into crevasse and wrecks!
We upload pictures to Facebook and Flickr on a daily basis FREE OF CHARGE!
Supply towels so you can dry off in between dives.
Provide a hot towel at the end of the day. (this feels so good)

Diving ratios are a maximum of six licensed SCUBA divers to 1 licensed PADI professional
Free transportation to and from Waikiki, Hawaii
2 separate SCUBA diving locations for greater variety of Dive Sites!

NO SCUBA DIVING EXPERIENCE - NO WORRIES:

If you don't have any SCUBA diving experience, NO WORRIES, this is not an issue! PADI standards allow our licensed PADI instructors to take you on a Discover SCUBA Diving adventure. These charters are $110 and include all of the above, but PADI standards places two restrictions. Yes the instructor gets in the water with you and guides the dive to keep you SAFE!! (No need for computers or flashlights - You have enough to think about without adding equipment you do not need).

PADI standards mandate a lower ratio of Discover Diver for each licensed PADI instructor;
it is :4 to1 (not 6 to1) also the group cannot be five because one diver is licensed.

A maximum depth limit of 40 feet - Dive Masters are not allowed to take out Discover SCUBA divers.
In spite of the word "master," they are less qualified than instructors.

PLEASE NOTE: Some dive masters take a separate course which allows them to take out Discover SCUBA divers. But in Hawaii this does not work. PADI standards are a dive master (with the extra training) is only allowed to take out two discover SCUBA divers at a time, to a maximum depth of 20 feet in pool like conditions (very few days are like a swimming pool) All the Discover SCUBA dives in Hawaii are 30 to 40 feet.
